These Air Fryer Cheesy Satay Chicken Poppers are your new go-to party snack. Juicy, tender chicken wrapped in smoky bacon, air-fried to crispy perfection, then topped with melty cheese and Marion’s Kitchen Satay Sauce for that rich, nutty flavour. Add a quick side of tangy pickled veggies for freshness, and you have the perfect balance of salty, sweet, savoury, and crunchy. Quick to prep, easy to clean up, and dangerously moreish.

For the Chicken Poppers:

600g chicken breast, cut into short strips

16 bacon strips

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 x Marion’s Kitchen Satay Chicken Kit (includes Satay Sauce and Marinade)

16 slices of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella or your favourite type), halved

For the Quick Pickled Vegetables:

2 small red Asian shallots, cut into wedges

1 long red chilli, sliced

1 cup sliced cucumber

2 tbsp white vinegar

1 tbsp sugar

  • To make the pickles, combine the vinegar and sugar in a small bowl , stirring until dissolved. Add the shallots, chilli, and cucumber, tossing to coat. Set aside to pickle while you prepare the chicken.
  • In a large bowl , mix the chicken strips with the Satay Marinade from the Marion’s Kitchen Satay Chicken Kit . Let it sit for 10 minutes to soak up the flavour.
  • Wrap each marinated chicken strip with a piece of cheese slice in the middle and half a strip of bacon. Secure with a toothpick to hold everything in place.
  • Lightly spray your air fryer basket with oil and arrange the bacon-wrapped chicken pieces in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap. You may need to cook in batches.
  • Air fry at 190°C for 12-15 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and the chicken is cooked through.
  • While the chicken is cooking, warm the Satay Sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat. Once heated, transfer it to a bowl for serving.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, serve warm with the Satay Sauce and the quick pickled veggies for a tangy and refreshing contrast.
